Brass Gallery Rail Posts – Case Study

Premium Finish. Tight Consistency. Delivered On Time.
When every component is on display, there’s nowhere to hide variation.
We recently manufactured a batch of brass Gallery Rail posts for a premium restaurant fit-out where visual consistency was just as important as dimensional accuracy. Every component would be highly visible in the final installation, meaning even minor inconsistencies in finish or machining would immediately stand out.
With a tight production timeline and no room for rework, the project required precise process control from start to finish.

The Challenge
This project demanded a high level of repeatability across every component while maintaining a premium surface finish suitable for a luxury hospitality environment.
Key requirements included:
- High-visibility architectural components
- Consistent finish across the full production batch
- Tight tolerances and repeatability
- Short lead time with local Australian production
- Zero room for variation during installation
The Approach
Using a CAD-driven workflow, the components were programmed and machined on our Tornos lathe to ensure repeatability throughout production.
By controlling the process end-to-end internally, we maintained consistency across every part while keeping the project on schedule. Careful process control and machining strategy ensured the surface finish remained uniform throughout the batch.
This project also marked an internal milestone, with one of our machinists managing the job from CAD programming through to final production under close supervision and quality control.
The Outcome
The completed components delivered a clean, seamless installation with consistent finish and detail across every part.
For the client, this meant:
- No variation issues during installation
- No delays or rework under a tight deadline
- Confidence the project would come together correctly the first time
The result was a premium finished product delivered on schedule and manufactured locally in Australia.
Built for Consistency
Projects like this highlight the value of a machining partner that can control quality, timing, and output from start to finish. When finish, consistency, and lead times matter, process control makes the difference.
